This is a recreation of the apple turnover (minus the poison)
Regina/The Evil Queen makes for Emma Swan
during season one of ABC's Once Upon a Time.
It's incredibly easy to make with: refrigerated dough,
Granny Smith apples and a few other ingredients.

Thanks for watching!!!
*makes 2 HUGE turnovers
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
2/3 cup light brown sugar
8 count refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing tops)
granulated sugar, for sprinkling
Preheat oven to 400 F degrees.
Wash, peel and slice apples. Place into a bowl. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and toss to coat. Set aside.
Melt 5 tablespoons of butter in a medium-size saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Pour over apple slices and gently stir until evenly coated. Set aside.
Unroll dough on a floured surface (counter). Lay it flat and separate down the middle seam/perforation. You should now have a sheet of 4 crescents (still attached). Set the other sheet aside for the second turnover. It's best to watch the above video to see how this looks. Sprinkle the sheet with flour as well as your rolling pin. Roll the sheet out until it's 8 x 10". Fold the top corner down to make a triangle. Cut off the bottom excess (it's best to watch the above video to see how this is done). Open it again and now it should be a perfect square.
Place the square on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Begin filling it with half the apples. Fold the top half back over to make a triangle. Seal the edges with a fork. Repeat the steps for the second turnover.
Brush the tops of both turnovers with the melted butter. Sprinkle with sugar.
Place into preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes at 400 F degrees until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool a few minuted before transferring to a serving platter. Enjoy while watching a OUAT marathon!
