LET'S EAT FICTION!
Pesto Aioli Ingredients:
3 tablespoons real mayonnaise
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons green (basil) pesto
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Pesto Aioli Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
Pesto Aioli (from above)
(1) 8"-section from a baguette or French bread loaf
red or green leaf lettuce
6 slices of Sopressata (dry-cured salami)
2 slices of Prosciutto (dry-cured ham)1 fresh mozzarella ball (thinly-sliced)
1 Roma tomato (thinly-sliced)
Cut bread in half so you have a top and bottom. Spread a thin layer of prepared aioli on each. Place on foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes at 400 degrees (F). Set aside a few minutes to cool.
Place a lettuce leaf across the bottom layer of bread. Top with 3 slices of salami. Add another 3 slices on top of those. Now add the 2 slices of prosciutto (be careful, it's paper-thin and delicate). Top with 3 slices of fresh mozzarella and 4 slices of tomato. Now add another lettuce leaf. Cover with the top half of the bread. Slice the sandwich in half to share with a friend or save for later.
